House to rent: No Pets, No Smokers, NO BENEFITS

Why not ask for references for people on benefits?

Like their current landlord how theyve been as a tenant, if they receive their housing benefit direct do they pay on time, etc..

 

Surely those in good standing would be able to provide these without effort

I agree, there are some very nice and responsible tenants who are in receipt of benefits who always pay on time. I know, I was once one myself.
