gingerella83
Hi, I'm wondering if anyone knows, how to access info regarding old court cases etc? I'm trying to help my dad find information about his friend, who commited suicide in 2006. His friend was wrongly convicted of rape. I'm trying to find information about the court case etc. But have no idea where to start, any help/info would be so helpful. Thanks
spats
I think you may find that if a person has been convicted of a crime then only that person is allowed access to the court records. I dont think members of the public are allowed access to them. Why not start at the Library? If you have an idea of when/where/who you can look through backdated newspapers for articles covering the event at the time.
Ghozer
go here.... http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/records/looking-for-person/criminal-trial-or-conviction.htm You can see the dates that are available for searching. If it's not within those dates, then you cannot find out the details without originally being involved in the case, on either side.
