Where's best for financial advice

Recommended Posts

There's no way on earth I'm going back to debt. I've struggled for to long and I'm never doing it again

good for you....:)

you mentioned saving - its highly unlikely the interest would be as high as the interest you are paying on your debt.....so better financially to pay off some debt

get a calculator and do some sums

I'd had the thought that I'd use the money I'm paying off the debts to put into savings and get a deposit that way' date=' I'm paying £450 a month so it will add up quite quickly[/quote']

Applying for a mortgage with unsettled defaulted debt is probably not going to result in your mortgage being approved. It won't be easy even if your debts are satisfied as they will still show on your record for 6 years but at least possible if you can say you've now settled them.
