Cookingfat Posted May 2, 2013 Share Posted May 2, 2013 hi there were pits all around the manor i believe there was a pit at manr top. there waas one behind the fire station on mansfield rod you must re,ember tat these mines were only tiny one or two man operatoins were all you need was a cuple of shovels, a small truck that would run in and out with a load of coal on board, but that was just one pit there were a dozen more down the road to the bottom of intake before the newish housing estate opposite the old intake bus terminus these pits again when Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
