Miliband not ready to be Prime Minister.

Makes you wonder when some folk will pull their heads out of the sand; maybe another 20 million will wake them up to the fact that Britain was full and now it’s too late.

Maybe once every city in the UK looks like Los Angeles 2019 from Blade Runner, people might realise.

Surely it should be in the best interest of the people, a growing economy doesn't mean everyone is better off. The economy can grow just by increasing the population and whilst the majority are getting poorer.

One the other hand the economy can shrink whilst the majority are getting wealthier and the population is decreasing.

Sensible people will no doubt agree!

How about this..........for every vetted useful immigrant that wants to come and work and embrace our culture(not forgetting their own of course) we send a one of our own wasters back to their country as a fair swop.We could start with some of the prison population.Instead of tax payers paying fortunes to keep them in relative comfort, lets ship them abroad to some of the countries where they might have to survive picking up tin cans and selling them just for enough food to survive,(par for the course in some countries) it would be a win win situation for the UK...............it aint going to happen of course but we can wish!

The Germans are doing something like it. Elderly Germans are being sent to offshore retirement complexes where it is cheaper to look after them. German demographics mean there is not enough young people in the workforce to be carers anyway.

I'm not agreeing that UK pensioners are wasters and need to be deported. But this German solution is a typically German practical solution to their problems.

Maybe helpful to distinguish between different types of immigration and the different groups that come in.

There's students here temporarily. This has been widely abused by bogus colleges and substandard institutions and is being cracked down on.

Skilled workers and company transfers. The skilled worker thing is understandable if we have shortages of certain types of workers. It is abused though. Company transfers is definitely an area of widespread abuse.

We have the recent wave of was Europeans who if we're honest have filled the void left by Britons who won't do certain jobs. This group has come here primarily to work and has low rates of claiming unemployment benefits and low rates of crime.

We have Britons returning after long periods of living abroad.

Then we have an anticipated wave of more east Europeans. This is a concern because of the time they are arriving at. Most of the Poles came here when there was an economic boom so could be absorbed. I'm not sure we can absorb 300,000 Bulgarians and Romanians in the current climate. None of the main parties seem to know what to do about it.

Finally we have (now) British people who emigrated here in successive waves since the 40s. Most have assimilated but there are big groups that haven't and perhaps are a net drain. I'm sometimes wonder if the recent more successful immigrants are a convenient proxy for attacking previous less successful waves of immigration.

Not a problem unless they stay after cause as finished, work, or take places which UK residents wanted.

As long as we don't take skilled workers from abroad as the easy or cheapest option, if we have people here wanting those skill we should train them.

Should never have happened and needs sorting, our unemployed should lose all their benefits if they refuse to work. Employers should also consider moving to the country that has the workers they need.

They should be required to support themselves and not expect the state to support them.

They contributed to high housing costs, high energy costs, higher living costs, it doesn't matter how much work they do when they arrive, Britain just does not have the resources to continue its population expansion and we will eventually loose the ability to buy recourses from abroad.

Not a lot we can do about the ones that are here apart from get them working, that won't happen whist more are arriving.

I was talking about wasters, not pensioners!..............why do you see fit to bring pensioners in as wasters?
