Should I be worried? Child with phobia and mother laughing

Recommended Posts

I'm hoping it is a joke, because im laughing,if not, it's still funny :hihi:

Its really not funny mate and its no joke,

This kids **** scared of radishes. and she teases him because of it.

Hes actually frightened of some other food stuffs too, he goes barmy if you go near him with rice crispies. You got to feel for the kid.

Hes going to have serious problems when he grows up with a mother like that.

He could grow up with lots of even more odd irrational fears and it could turn him mad.

What if he turns out to be a serial killer or something?

When i was really young 7-8.When we used to go down to ingoldmells,in those days, you used to be able to see loads of jet fighters flying low, heading out to sea, breaking the sound barrier as they went and then the sound of them practice bombing. He used to tell me that if little boys and girls are seen out in the open, when jets fly over, apes will jump out and get us and take us away.Every time a jet flew over i used to scream and leg it and either hide in the toilet block, dive under a caravan or car,any where i could hide :hihi:.I turned out alright...........i think:suspect:

I don't think social services would do anything anyway as they are over run with other more urgent child protection cases.

I think it's dreadful what the OP has described.

I would guess that the child is on the autistic spectrum and I wonder if the mother has ever considered this? Having an irrational fear of something like this suggests to me that's what could be the underlying problem.

She could do serious harm to her child behaving in this way.

She should, at the very least, refrain from frightening her kid and she'd be well advised to seek some professional help (for her and the kid by the sound of it)!

yes right, that's perfectly understandable to be scared in that situation, quite normal i'd say. The situation the OP describes is not and needs specialist investigation.
