Looking for a netball team

Recommended Posts

Hi Have just moved to Sheffield from Oz where I've been playing social netball for the last few years and am looking to join a netball team. I play GD or GK. Alternatively any else out there interested in forming a netball team?

cheers

Louise

We are the lucky charms and play on a Tuesday at 7 at Goodwin sports centre outdoor courts. We are training with a coach at the moment and then joining a league. We all haven't played since school and are a relaxed friendly team who have socials every couple of months. We are not a super serious team incase that is what u are looking for! We just pay for the court which is about £3 each. The more people that come the cheaper it is. You are welcome to pop along tomorrow or any tuesday if you like!

It's on the left hand side of northumberland road if you are coming from western bank. It's the opposite side of the road to the actual Goodwin sports centre. You access it up some steps which you will see alot of football players using. It's amongst some football pitches and in the top left hand corner as you go up the steps. You walk along side the top football pitch to get to it. I think it's normally a tennis court. Hope this makes sense? As you can tell I'm not great at directions! Hopefully see u soon! Cheers, Zara

If you are looking for a team it is always worth contacting the leagues. You can always start off as a pool player till you find a team and ability to suit and then join them!

The leagues I play in are as follows, there is no shortage in Sheffield!

http://www.theleaguenetball.co.uk/ - Monday nights in Sheffield ( 4 leagues)

http://www.match-night.co.uk/leaguefinder/index.php?region=1&sport=2&Submit=Go+%3E - Wednesday night in Sheffield (5 leagues)

http://www.nsnetball.co.uk/ - Sunday morning netball (2 leagues)

There is also the EIS (6 leagues) but you have to be in a team to join that one and pay a yearly netball affiliation fee to netball England, this one runs on a Tuesday night: http://www.eis-sheffield.co.uk/netball

There is also information for the two big Sheffield netball clubs 'stormers' and 'hurricanes' on that link, they run training sessions too. I think Stormers run a back to netball night too.

Good luck and hope you find a team soon, It is hard working out the level you are to start off with, so try pool in the bottom leagues first and work your way up till you feel comfortable :)
