Help to identify an old record player

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,I am new to the forum my name is Sandy.

I wonder if anyone can help....

I have just bought an old record player and there are some things I would like to know about it.

The name on the front of it says "ELPICO"

It has one valve fitted "Don't know if it is the right one"

It plays 16-33-45-78 records.

It has a flip needle that says 78 / LP

I have searched the internet for any info but without luck.

I would be very grateful if anyone that knows anything about this player

could get it touch.

I would like to know Who made this model

What valves are used in it

And what needles are required

I cant see how to add pictures to this forum but if you can help please Email me at

sandyrussell@talktalk.net

and I will Email the pictures back to you

Thanks Sandy

Hello Sandy and welcome to the forum . You cannot add pictures to the forum (except in the classified ads), but you can add a link to your picture using a site like photo bucket (or other photo hosting site), and post the link.

Hi its a 'Dansette' if you google 'Dansette Elpico record player' lots of information and pictures come up.

Hi Timmmy, thanks for your reply I will have a look on google.

I actually wanted a Dansette but they were all to expensive for me, so it looks like I got myself a real bargain.

Thanks again..............
