Men V Woman? Are We Now Finally Equal?

We might have equal rights in law, but in practice this doesn't necessarily mean real equality. You only have to look at the current government, how many women are in the cabinet? In top corporations how many women are CEOs or even sit on the board of directors?

 

I'd like to see some actual figures for the number of female high court judges, or women bishops, or pricipals in top Universities. Yes I know it's slowly improving but until women fill 50% of these influential positions I don't think we can claim true equality.

There were no women in those roles at the time to do the training such was the entrenched patriarchal nature of British society in the war years. Yet, from absolute scratch women did a job every bit as good as the men who had been doing it for generations. Hardly the actions of an incapable gender.

You originally questioned whether they could (see below) not whether they do. There is no reason to believe that women could not easily take on these roles as evidenced by those that did during the war years and those that currently do.

Depends what you mean by equal.

 

Not all men and women would choose to be equal.

Some women don't seem to mind being subservient to men, and some men don't mind being dominated by women.

Women are equal cause they have the vote so they have the same advantage to make a change. Its taken a while but its finally there....

 

If anything i think women are becoming less equal through so called celebrities & the media.

 

WAGS, TOWIE, HELLO MAGAZINE ETC

Oh I can assure you they are already equal alright
