horribleblob
It's intriguing having the name "Wilson" plus "Lakeside view" on the back. I was thinking perhaps your painting was put in an old frame with previous info remaining on the backing, but the subject is correct. That close up of your painting just shows how good the rendition of the foliage is, and I agree with you: why the chocolate box thatched cottages? By-the-by, I think "Balesi" is Turkish for "Ballet". carosio
Heaven knows how long it took to paint, but as Itrytoplease says it's amazing what can be achieved by a few brush strokes; detail isn't everything. From the same place I bought a small still-life oil (roses) signed by S. Leigh which I'll post up when I have time. I wonder if Balesi is a false name? ---------- Post added 29-04-2013 at 21:14 ---------- The still life by S leigh http://s665.photobucket.com/user/carosio/media/leigh1.jpg.html
