The phrase 'I'm not racist, but...' is usually followed by a statement which is actually racist, e.g. 'but I can't stand the way those Muslims/Poles/Scots/Jews [insert verb]'. But that would discourage Mr Shaw (above) from spending half his life on the internet and I suppose it keeps him out of trouble/off the streets! Plus, as he's had himself made into a moderator, he would be removing much of his own material. His life would lose meaning!
