retired Posted May 4, 2013 Share Posted May 4, 2013 Well a lot of car owners don,t like the auto wash. They may not be able to conveniently wash their own car or are simply to lazy. But lets have a look at your typical hand car wash. Most are foreign owned and manned. Can you imagine a English lad or lass working on a price basis only and washing cars all hours and having to work weekends! I can,t see that happening, we might want jobs but we English are not that desperate. I myself only use them on the coldest of days and as a must for safety reasons. perhaps once a year at most. £5 is about £6.50 before tax and NI is taken off. Sod that! natjack Posted May 4, 2013 Share Posted May 4, 2013 The Queens Road carwash by St Wilfrids Centre ran for years with all English workers, out in the open in all weathers, they even used an old mangle for the leathers. They did a good job too, often used to go there. Then it seemed to be driven out of business by the one that opened by the the retail park further up on the other side. Who do you think used to wash cars before all the EE immigrants turned up, prepared to flout a lot of rules and have a blind eye turned to them? English people doing rubbish jobs haven't always been lazy, that's something that's happened during the last so many years, probably down to benefits being too generous and the minimum wage?
