Cheap car mot needed ? need it to pass

They have to on all cars now. & just because it doesn't smoke doesn't mean it's right. I had my old pump turned up & it smoked like crazy but passed the emitions test by miles. As for CATs don't do that much for old diesels

I think maybe they are getting service and mot mixed up,the OP was on about mot and the topic has drifted on to servicing

Change all the filters and the oil fill it full of biofuel run it around for few days and it will pass no problems.

Possibly, this was the sequence of posts..

Take it back and ask them to sort out the problem.

If I had a car recently serviced, I'd expect it to pass the MOT a week later, unless they told you there was a problem.

I don't know which garage you use, but an emissions test isn't usually part of a service on most cars
