You have trouble reading ? "every time a case like this surfaces"..name another

Saville, Clifford, Glitter, Harris, Hall, DLT, Roache... how many do you want?

And before you say it is all one case as it all relates to Operation Yewtree we are discussing the fact that every time an individual case is publicised the same nonsense about bandwagons and compo seekers is trotted out.

Now, stop trying to avoid the question - where is the evidence that false allegations made for financial gain respresent a significant problem beyond a handful of extreme cases?

Here is the question again, just to remind you what you are trying, and failing, to answer -

Where are the details of all of these people who have made false allegations of rape and child abuse in order to make money?

If it is such a significant problem that it warrants being brought up every time a case like this surfaces then there must be evidence beyond the odd extreme situation.

By the way, calling me naive for not accepting your suspicions as fact is your weakest argument yet. Shall I call you a fantasist and we can abandon mature debate altogether?

Here have a read of this and see if it registers

Of course you will have to make up your own mind why people would make false allegations in cases like this but it isnt rocket science is it

You don't understand, there's literally thousands of women queueing up to perjure themselves in a degrading and humiliating way just for the money.

Every civilized society must strive to eradicate heinous criminality by punishing offenders, but it also must insure that the innocent aren't punished with them. The latter concern typically is absent from the public discourse. Accusations of serious criminality, especially alleged sexual wrongdoing, are often their own convictions in the high court of public opinion because the stigma is so severe, and because definitively proving innocence in a disputed sex case often is impossible.

Sara Ylen has reported to the police, family, or friends that she has been raped by up to eight different people on nine or more separate occasions.

A 38-year-old woman has been charged with falsely reporting a rape at her eastern Michigan home, five months after a man convicted of sexually assaulting her in a different case was released from prison because of similar reports of bogus allegations.

Sara Ylen told police last September that she was raped at her Lexington home, 80 miles northeast of Detroit. But she has been charged with filing a false report of a felony and tampering with evidence.

Ylen was released on bond after appearing Thursday in a St. Clair County court. She couldn’t be reached for comment Saturday, and it wasn’t known if she has an attorney. An arraignment date has not yet been set, according to court records.

Ylen alleged she had injuries related to the rape and was showing signs of bruising. But Sanilac County Sheriff Garry Biniecki told the Port Huron Times Herald that Ylen’s alleged bruises were created with makeup.

Name of victims of sexual assault aren’t usually released, but Ylen has talked freely to the Times Herald about another case, the prosecution of James Grissom. She told the newspaper she wanted to be identified and speak publicly as a rape victim.

Despite no physical evidence, Grissom was convicted in 2003 of raping Ylen outside a Meijer store in St. Clair County and sentenced to at least 15 years in prison.

The case changed dramatically when evidence emerged after the trial that Ylen had lied about as many as nine assaults in California before the alleged 2001 rape in Michigan. Grissom’s attorney didn’t have that information to possibly challenge her credibility at trial.

Judge Cynthia Lane said Ylen had “concocted incredible stories” and threw out Grissom’s conviction in 2012. The prosecutor declined to put him through another trial, and Grissom was released from prison in November after nearly 10 years.

Indeed. All those multi-millionaire rock stars of yesteryear, who have serious money, why haven't they been accused? It's baffling.

Meanwhile 1000s of rapes go unreported each year. We should be focussing on creating a culture the enables victims to report, but some clearly are not interested in justice for the abused and prefer to obsess about the 5% of false rape allegations (a figure which is disputed) and disregard the fact that 95% are therefore considered genuine. Strange that.

Nowhere in that article does it provide any evidence that false claims for financial reasons are a significant issue. Indeed, it actually states -

Of course, it is highly unlikely that most, or even many, people who came forward were making everything up, and it would be very distressing for real victims to be accused of this.

If they go unreported how do you know they are happening.

I was talking to a nice young lady this morning, you wouldn’t like her, she uses sex to get what she wants off her husband, but she did punch him the nuts because he woke her up when he tried to have sex.

She didn't feel the need to report him for attempted rape.

You do get around for someone online constantly, what a weird story that has no relevance, very odd.
