Stag Do - Saturday in May

Hi all

Coming to Sheffield in May for a Stag Do with 14 lads (all late 20's).

Going to the Owlerton stadium for the racing and just wondered if anyone can advise on bars/clubs for after? Would like to get guest list on both to avoid any issues.

Was looking at Crystal bar, but unsure whether this would be suitable to stay in for the duration? Would like a club for a good laugh/crack on the dance floor at some point.

Looking to incorporate Spearmint Rhino and a Casino in too, so potentially just looking for a club after Crystal?

Any help/advice greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

if you can tell me abit more about what type of music ect I'll be happy to suggest places??

Cheers - Funky house? Don't want it to be drug den but a reasonably cool place that will be tolerant to stag do's (will be dressed smart casual). Been on a couple of stags this year and looking at your Sakura/Revolution (Manchester) type bars and clubs.

I think we'll leave the races around 10:00, so will want to do strip club - bar - club then finish in a casino. Is that do-able?

Thanks for reply.

Yeah it's easily doable mate, strip club your best bet is Spearmint rhino, probably best getting taxis from there back into town (not far from the bars bout £4 in a taxi, but if you don't know where your going it could take you a while to walk)

Bars there is west street/division street, although the bars on west street are probably more suited to a stag do... players would probably be your best bet, male/female break/street dancers on stage most of the night, all the girls working on the bar wear cheer-leading outfits music in there is a mix of everything commercial... Although all the other bars are pretty close by if you fancy trying a few others, so-yo is just around the corner & is also pretty good.

Clubs, the closest your likely to get to the clubs you mentioned is probably viperrooms (next door to crystal) I believe they play a range of house music downstairs. I can't think of anywhere that plays funky house on a Saturday, you'll find alot of the bars/clubs in sheffield play commercial, more r&b than anything else!

Casino there's the new Gentings casino near enough in the town center, you'll just need ID to get new memberships (free) if you've not been there before. The bar there is open til around 5am I believe.

If you're looking for something a little more upmarket, there's the bars on ecclesall road, which is slightly out of the town center but has numerous bars, where you could end up in Menzels which is open 'til about 2.30am, that's more of a late bar than a club though.

Hi,

Drop me an email F&BManager_GC-SheffieldG@rank.com

I previously worked at Crystal and could help arrange guestlists etc on the night, as I still have plenty of contacts on the Sheffield nightclub scene, It would also include Grosvenor G Casino!

I would change the format slightly as you are starting on the other side of the city. Dogs, Crystal/Bars/Spearmint/Casino....

Grosvenor also has the latest casino bar open till 6am, with food till 5am. We are also only 150 yards from Spearmint Rhino...

Jack, many thanks for taking the time to write this mate. Absolutely spot on advice. I think I'm going to keep it simple, Players-Crystal-Viperrooms-Spearmint-Casino.

Make sense?

Thanks for the reply James. As above suggesting, Players-Crystal-Viperrooms-Spearmint-Casino - is that reasonable with the distances involved? Don't want to be messing about with too many taxis!

150 Yards!! Really??

I walk past both every day. Get your tape measure out mate. On both google maps and ios maps it's over half a mile walking route.

If you're going to Crystal, you'd be better off going to Mercedes Lounge. Cheaper, friendlier and better than Spearmint's. And then its a short walk to Genting's Casino. Only 5 mins away and still in the centre of Sheffield (and ridiculously easy to find after Mercedes).

You must struggle to use Googlemaps ;)

We have arranged several parties with Spearmint and have never had any complaints!

Are you staying in hotels too? As I said drop me an email as I can send you a list of contacts, cheers.

Actually, I've just put address to address in (instead of postcode to postcode) , and it's come out as 0.5 miles.

If we're splitting hairs, I still think my 0.6 miles was a lot nearer than your 150 yards ;)

Having been to Spearmints/VillaMercedes and Grosvenor/Gentings, I still have to say I think my option is better. I know you're involved in Grosvenor Casino so you're obviously biased.

The distance between Crystal and Grosvenor isn't negligible. Especially for a group of lads who maybe don't know the area.

Whereas you'd virtually pass VillaMercedes and Genting's before even reaching Spearmint's. And then it'd be a further walk to Grosvenor.
