Pink2Bubble
Sheffield Forum struggled with knocks throughout the 90 minutes and eventually went down 4-2 at home to Sheffield Titans. Ashley Proctor came in to replace Aaron Whiteley as he was unavailable but there was only one sub available. Forum got off to a great start by taking the lead after only 5 minutes. A corner was floated in and as the ball broke loose in a goal mouth scramble, Nathan Jenkins got a foot to it to lash home his first goal. It was then things took a turn for the worse as Daniel Sheedy jarred his knee and Liam Wales was feeling his hamstring. This resulted in Sheedy being replaced and Wales lowering his work rate to get him through the game. Titans then managed to pull back level after 2 shots had been blocked it fell to an open player who managed to put the ball away for 1-1. Titans then took the lead not long after as Forum didn't take the few chances they managed to create but they did, just before half time, win a penalty as the ball was handled in the their area. Liam Wales stepped up and confidently put it away to leave the teams level at 2-2. HT: Sheffield Forum 2-2 Sheffield Titans Forum looked to build on that goal and take the game to Titans but it wasn't to happen. Shane Middlebrook and Liam Wales had shots saved by the keeper before Titans took the lead on the break. A disappointing goal to concede as Jordan Gladwin had taken a knock on the knee which now meant he was visibly struggling. Titans added a fourth through a penalty as Joe Appleby handled in the area as he tried to avoid clashing into keeper Adam Smith. Appleby took a big bang to the ankle which ruled him out for 10 minutes before he was able to see the game out. A disappointing day after a great start, shame not to have any more players available for this game as Forum found it difficult with injured players, some feeling it more afterwards meaning a possible 5 players out for Tuesday! FT: Sheffield Forum 2-4 Sheffield Titans Team: Smith, Appleby, Proctor, Jenkins, Bowden, Gray, Gladwin, Wales, Coates, Middlebrook, Sheedy (Baugh).
