each one ive looked at says its a Islamic ruling.

 

The Mail story, the top one in your link in the OP and the only one from a British source says it was an Egyptian proposal and complete nonsense. What are you getting worked up about?

This story was categorically NOT MADE UP BY THE WESTERN MEDIA.

 

The original source that they all got it from was a SAUDI ARABIAN NEWS NETWORK.

 

All the western media did was immediately jump on the story and repost it because it's the kind of thing that's good for circulation, and even then it was only a couple of outlets, it was hardly media saturation. In fact I had never even heard the story until you started this thread.

 

And now that it's been shown to be false even the Daily Mail has put up a full retraction, and even an explanation of how the story unfolded.
