New Champs to open in Hillsborough.

Recommended Posts

You've never been to Champs then? More like TOWIE meets Wetherspoons!

Student pub isnt it. Not been there at night since it reopened but good for a afternoon drink.

Good place in the summer. Big out doors bit out back & front.

The old Champs wasn't too bad, and as someone not from these parts originally I actually did want to see some Premier League football from time to time, but the move to the Pomona didn't work for me. Went in on a bank holiday and the feeling that something was about to go off was tangible at 1.30pm.

It was the pungent mix of spray tan and steroids.

I also agree that Hillsborough desperately needs a real ale pub worthy of the city, but I'm afraid it would be lost on the locals.

For gods sake can someone please open a decent real ale pub in hillsborough?!

New Barrack Tavern and Hills Hotel are good 20 stomps, I need one bang in the middle if Hillsborough with no scum please

Well the Wetherspoons was a first step...

And topless fairy's behind the bar and a unicorn on the door! Only in your dreams!

A £1.50 fare on the tram will take you from Hillsborough to Shalesmoor or University of Sheffield, both starting points for excellent real ale pub crawls....

True, but I don't think it's unreasonable to want a decent pub in the centre of a large suburb like Hillsborough.

given the number of shops closing down in Hillsborough, I wonder if there might be some enterprising individual tempted to convert one into a specialist beer bar...

I'm sure I remember reading something about a couple of guys opening something up selling real ale somewhere like Middlewood road, but then again I could have dreamt it I suppose:huh:
