Happ Hazzard
There's an article about this on the Guardian, and even the Guardianistas are rubbishing it. It's a load of absolute balls. It is not a "human right" to have a house paid for by the state in the first place, let alone one with spare bedrooms.

frededwards
It's not a stunt, the UN has sent a housing official over to investigate ou housing crisis. The official has said there is a crisis and the bedroom tax violates human rights to adequate housing. Incorrect. She came here to write an independent report that was to be published next year, and was given approval so to do. She gave a statement after just two weeks, and has consistantly, erroneously, referreed to the benefit reform as a "Bedroom Tax", which it is not. I don't usually have much time for Grant Shapps, but he's right on this one. the disingenuous left-wing idiot needs putting in her place.

Happ Hazzard
The UN is a waste of space, and stuff like this just exposes it for the nonsense it is.
geared
It's a bad sign that the UN can't even wrap their heads around a simple benefit reduction. God help Syria, the UN don't have a bloody clue.

Tradescanthia
Maybe HM Govt will disregard all UN advices and rulings and Mr Obama and co will order 'military strikes' to facilitate a 'regime change' ?????? The UN have ruled that many of the changes brought in by Camerons thugs are a violation of human rights. If we refuse to listen and implement changes and continue to allow the Tory Boys to further disadvantage the already disadvantaged then how can Cameron preach human rights to the rest of the world ?? I'm sure the forum 'Tory Boys' will be frothing at the mouth already. ---------- Post added 11-09-2013 at 18:29 ---------- No, ex council houses are none of the councils business, and they would have no need to visit a current council house, they know who is living there and how many bedrooms it has. ---------- Post added 12-08-2013 at 22:50 ---------- Even if he did claim HB he still wouldn't be affected, the recent changes were nothing to do with HB for people living in private rented property, they only affected council properties. The bedroom tax affects people in all rented property, not just council housing. So does the benefit cap on Housing Benefits.........read up on it. In London a lot of landlords have become very rich by overcharging, hence the cap on benefits.
