LeMaquis
Mandelson says that Labour "sent out search parties" to attract immigrants to come to UK when they were in power. The Conservatives have recently appointed an Australian to strengthen the party's immigration policy. Companies often go abroad to recruit. I have had a couple of job interviews in London with foreign companies to work abroad. British people apply for work visas for Canada, Australia and elsewhere at embassies in London. It's not as if you're uncovering anything unique.
Stan Tamudo
Ye olde blind faithful of Sheffield. Labour are just watered down Tories these days and Ye olde blind faithful of Sheffield is just another myth.
WeX
Mandelson says that Labour "sent out search parties" to attract immigrants to come to UK when they were in power. Now, he concedes UK workers, traditional Labour supporters, cannot find jobs as a result of mass immigration. Is this a party we should seriously consider to become the next government? Mecky
Labour are a disgraceful political party. They're nearly as bad as the tories ---------- Post added 15-05-2013 at 05:50 ---------- Importing labour voters who are not permitted to vote
I1L2T3
Importing labour voters They were importing workers and promoting a form of aggressive multiculturalism. Neither was needed. On a positive note the residents of Islington got their houses and buy to lets done up by half-price Polish builders and plumbers.
LeMaquis
who are not permitted to vote Which isn't true. Commonwealth citizens living here have full voting rights, as do citizens of Eire. Other EU citizens have voting rights at local elections and at some regional elections like the Scottish Parliament and GLA.
WeX
who are not permitted to vote Hahaha, so you think people who settle in the UK are not allowed to vote How many of these people become British citizens? How many have children in the UK who are British citizens? ---------- Post added 15-05-2013 at 09:47 ---------- Plus, this shows that Labour tried (and some argue succeeded) to change the face of British society behind the back of the UK population. This alone shows a total disregard for the will of the people. Labours arrogance was legendary but this puts the cherry on the cake.

I think the coalition's plan to import unlimited numbers of low waged Indian workers demonstrates a similar disregard. If you are a uni student or leaving education in the coming years there is a high chance the role you would have got will be taken by an Indian. Where is UKIP on this? Nowhere! You "think" is a little different to "admitting" trying to import immigrants. Didn't the coalition implement limits on the number of immigrants who can come to the UK from outside of the EU? If so, there cant be an unlimited number of Indian workers coming to the UK. What proof do you have that an Indian person can just come in to the UK and work? What proof do you have that an Indian person can just come in to the UK and work? It's in the bilateral trade agreement that the EU, with help from Cameron/Cable, is close to signing with India. It places a disproportionate burden on the UK to admit Indian migrants. http://www.opendemocracy.net/ourkingdom/linda-kaucher/what-was-real-purpose-of-david-camerons-visit-to-india http://tompride.wordpress.com/2013/03/25/immigration-bombshell-camerons-very-secret-deal-to-allow-a-flood-of-cheap-labour-from-india/ http://www.thehindu.com/business/Economy/indiaeu-fta-talks-gain-momentum/article4623470.ece Arguably it's even worse than what Labour did.
