Nigel Farage, trapped in a pub

Can you blame the Scots for not welcoming people they believe are racist?

It's this weeks news too. And news in any other week that suits the Tories. Once they have a good story it won't be let go.

To be fair it wasn't "the Scots". It was a small group of young Scottish Nationalists.

A spokesman of whom then went on record condemning anti-English sentiments.

"Our vision is for a Scotland that welcomes people from across the world, including England."

Controlling the influx of right-wing politicians playing imperial overlords for the day is a race-neutral policy.

Before anyone asks "How was that any different from Ed Miliband campaigning in Edinburgh?", well I've never seen Miliband hang up on a radio interviewer because he thought the questions were too close for comfort.

Yes, as they seem to be much more racist than UKIP which is not racist and never has been.

Controlling immigration is a race-neutral policy.

not necescerally race neutral it depends who they want to stop coming in and why surely?

if they decided to stop all black people only from coming, or say all those from somalia it could be said they are discriminating on race grounds?

Don't make the mistake of conflating race and pigment count.

Having a go at someone merely on account of their ethnic or geographical background, and that can mean their nationality before the issue of skin colour enters the equation, can justifiably be called racist behaviour.

That's why you'd be hard put to pin it on last week's Scottish protesters. It was obvious that they were targeting Farage for reasons other than him being an Englishman.

Like I said, "Go back to England" was a seriously dumb thing for some of them (how many exactly ?) to shout.

Nigel Farage campaigning in Scotland really isn't any different to David Cameron, Ed Miliband or Nick Clegg campaigning in Scotland. As for Alex Salmond and anybody else saying they have no business being in Scotland, they have an absolute right to field candidates there. The clue is in the name UKIP, they are not an English nationalist party, they are not geographically pinned to an area like the Ulster parties or Welsh nationalist, or even Cornish nationalist. They are a UK wide party even if they don't command much support in some areas.

Left or right wing doesn't come in to it either, LibLabCon will all be campaigning for Scotland to stay in the Union, which is a view shared by UKIP so there shouldn't be any reason for Scottish nationalists to single out UKIP for particular ire.

Has anyone disputed their right to do so ? Salmond's words were

"We can frankly do without Ukip – who dislike everybody and know absolutely nothing about Scotland"

If you have any evidence to the contrary, feel free to post it here.
