poppet2
Yes & I was not critising you poppet just trying to point out they are now defunct, there is some help if they get HB there is a 4 week run on that helps till 1st wage comes in. I'm not certain how IS works now so you're advise is damned good, but I just didn't want people thinking they can still get CL's. Pete Yes, and the fact that you pointed out that 'crisis loans no longer exist', is testament to the fact that the system has changed radically, as a result of these government cuts, as many are only now discovering. ---------- Post added 20-05-2013 at 11:26 ---------- Maybe The Government are expecting people to take out Pay-Day loans and use food banks to get by. Throwing the problem to the private sector.

geared
Did the OP ever ring the job centre. Since crisis loans have been stopped did they ever find out if there was a similar scheme or something to help them out? I've been in this position myself and borrowed money off family. JarvisS8
Crisis loans do sort of exist but now called local assistance loans and run by council but good luck getting one. I had a cooker fire, nearly burned my kitchen down and was told it was not a disaster and one can live without a cooker...
