Banning Lads Magazines

Recommended Posts

As I have said before I have never accused you of that. Either prove it, or withdraw your accusation.

As for your position on banning page 3, I have repeated your own words - post #50 as I recall. If you don;t like that then please don't make those statements.

Right, have read back and must have been confusing you with someone else, as you kind of all merge into one to be honest. Anyway apologies for that.

Yes, I support banning page 3, quasi-porn has no place in a daily newspaper, as the petition says, do you see women flash up bare breasted on the news? There are plenty of other places for topless photos and plenty of opportunities for glamour models to pose naked or semi-nude. I have made my position quite clear on this. It makes me wonder if the men who buy the Sun for a quick ogle are too embarrassed to go and buy a porn magazine or something and because it's so normalised in the Sun, they feel justified? All they have to do is go online and they could see millions of naked breasts and nipples if they want.

What is "current feminist thinking"? Don't feminists think for themselves?

Yes, of course they do. How does the phrase 'current feminist thinking' imply anything other?

Is English your first language?

No argument then, Halibut? People like you are utterly pathetic. It's no longer the left are an utter laughing stock nowadays.

You might want to edit that. It doesn't make sense.

Thank you for your retraction.

However you haven't made your position clear. You want to ban Page 3 for various reasons (of which I don't intend to debate here) but you want women to be able to choose what they wish to do and don't do.

Those two viewpoints are in opposition to each other. Can you clarify this?
