I just wondered whether the atitude shown by Bob Mills to Claire Balding is typical of male magazines. If so I would suggest that nearly nude women in provocative poses isn't the only reason why people dislike these magazines.

Not necessarily connected, no. He made an unwarranted personal slur, presumably as a so-clever flippancy, wholly dissociated from the topic under discussion. Those whom the magazines feature are of unknown sexual preferences, anyway.
