Bypassblade
The feminist appearing on Sky News earlier was really beautiful for a woman with short hair (in reply to feminists are "mingers"). Shame she wants to ban lads mags though. Please don't report posts like this that in no way break the forum's rules! Pity you should say that as my post saying that they look like bulldogs licking pee off a nettle was removed, yet the one about having 7 orgasms with a dog is allowed to stay. I obviously upset someone in comfortable shoes, just shows the double standards on this forum, people can slag people off and name call but a bit of levity and OMG lets get this off. Women have been on page 3 for years and in nuddy books, and these so called lads books, if the women didn't want to do it they wouldn't, they get well paid and they don't complain for doing it 5,4,3,2,1 we'll see. SevenRivers
Well done you, I have never understood why feeding a baby would freak anyone out. Maybe as a society we don't see enough nudity, and this lack of nudity as demoralised it. I think part of the problem is we only ever see women's breasts in the media in the sexually titillating context, which makes society think of breasts only in that context. As an example, Facebook once banned photographs of a woman who had a mastectomy (which is oddly the opposite as the breast is absent but you get the idea), because they deemed it pornographic. If there were pictures showing nipples for breast feeding ads, this would send a message out that breasts are not just the object of sexual desire, they're also a functional part of a woman's body with a higher purpose than for men (or gay women) to ogle at. Yes, spot on. I believe FB also banned breastfeeding pictures but have allowed naked breasts in a sexual context to remain.

SevenRivers
Yes, spot on. I believe FB also banned breastfeeding pictures but have allowed naked breasts in a sexual context to remain. That is terrible, I can't see any justification for that.
Jessica23
Clearly you hadn't or I wouldn't be asking the question. Perhaps you should go back and read it again then? I can't really be very much clearer.
Suffragette1
But what if they want to pose for page three, for many it was the start of a successful career and you want to ban it. Surly women should have the right to choose what they want to do without other women telling them they shouldn’t do it. I am not telling them that they shouldn't do it, I am stating that bare breasts on a barely legal girl in the paper whose sister paper campaigned against paedophilia and publicly named and shamed convicted paedophiles, has no place in a society which considers itself for all and intents and purposes to be one which promotes equality. If there were a **** of the day picture, I may be slightly more sympathetic, but there isn't and as Jessica has already addressed, we are not on a level playing field because of structural inequalities and the locus of power. Hots on
Left-wingers in this country make laugh; complaining about western women choosing to express themselves by posing for glamour magazines happy and free and making good money doing it, yet don't bat an eyelid about the culture of head-to-toe covering up of Muslim women.
