Shale gas in uk massive

so you support gas companies making massive profits whilst the poorest are in fuel poverty then?

I believe that if companies do not make profit they will not attract the investment necessary for the project to take place.

The regulatory authorities have to approve the prices of fuel to the UK user, it is their job to ensure that profits are reasonable and that products are affordable.

Profit is the one thing that will make this project work, do not expect the government to fund it, they have no money, the Labour party spent it all.

Extracting the gas is going to require a huge investment and companies tend to invest money in projects that will make them the most money, very few people if any, will invest in something just for the fun of it.

all the tech investment already been done by the americans, all we had to do was get geologists to find it, once thats done, once the well has been done and fracked with water they move on to the next well whilst the first produces gas, as i said its 80% cheaper to produce than north sea gas

the costs are 80%+ lower than noth sea extraction, and greener due to massivley less infrastructure needed to get it out, tho the greens forget about that part of it, thats why costs are so low in the USA for shale gas!!

you forget that this is 1 report from 1 company, there are 12+ companies doing this, looks like shale gas will keep us going for 100+ years!!!

Or maybe as little as 5 years. Add in the possible widespread complications of fracking and it might not be as rosey as these companies want you to believe.

We need to stop burning finite resources and get on with building a proper renewable energy economy.

I am afraid that most Regulatory authorities are just a bunch of dunces or rogues just like many politicians who love the smell of money and only stop drinking coffee once the horse has bolted.

Sacking most government propped up regulators especially the lame ducks that should have regulated banks and recruiting only those who know what a fair days work is about.............something lacking in a certain areas of the public sector workforce!
