(The Gun is a peak located 2-3 miles west of the Roaches with considerable independent altitude - a must for Marilyn baggers!) Steep ascent onto main Roaches ridge, follow edge north over highest point and on to Bearstone Rock. Descend to Turner's Pool before tackling the Gun from the north. Descend to Meerbrook and then uphill walk to start point Start: SK003620, Car Park at south end of Roaches Transport: Meet at 09:15 at University car park, Durham Road (off Clarkson St), behind the Octagon.
