However, I paid the 10 euro visa fee on arrival at the Asian-side airport I landed at when I visited Istanbul; no problems for EU nationals. For travel insurance purposes, yes its in Europe. However you have to pay an entry fee of £10 english pound per person om entry. This must be in singular £10 notes.
