Rupert_Baehr
Yes and No. There are ideal levels of potassium, low levels of potassium and dangerously high levels of potassium. For some people, (for example my mother, during the latter years of her life) one banana a day was too much. Others have a chronic shortage and yet others (particularly those taking drugs such as Lasix) may have to take potassium supplements while they're on the drug. For most people one or two a day shouldn't cause a problem ... but don't forget that bananas have a high carbohydrate content.

Winchmore
yellow bananas with plenty of dark spots on the skin are OK. Bananas are great for carbs if you on a special diet..its all down to what else you are eating... bananas that have spots have converted most of their starch to simpler sugars. Starch is not allowed on GAPS or SCD because it travels to lower in the GI tract, feeding the pathogenic bacteria that we are trying to starve out. Simple sugars are absorbed quickly and do not give the pathogens a chance to feed. http://ournourishingroots.com/8-ways-to-get-enough-carbs-on-gaps/ http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gut-Psychology-Syndrome-Depression-Schizophrenia/dp/0954852028/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
