I also have £2.5K in a building society account. I am thinking about getting £1K in premium bonds, or maybe someone can reccommend a company to buy into? NorthernStar Posted June 24, 2013 Share Posted June 24, 2013 Not sure whether now is a good time to invest in plc's, last week the US announced that they are going to cease in feeding the markets with stimulus (QE) and the share prices have been plummeting ever since. However I'm no expert but my best performing shares have been Barratt Developments, they have tripled since I bought them, though as I said the markets have been largely propped up with money that frankly shouldn't exist and I'm sure the dirt will hit the markets fan big time before long if it hasn't already. I'm thinking about bitcoins myself, but I don't entirely trust them tbh; my reasoning for this is that as the governments will be forced to deal with tax havens people will seek places to hide their money from the taxman and bitcoins seem like an ideal vehicle for this purpose due to the anonymity of ownership.
