flamingjimmy
Seriously, anyone? What 'hard work' does the Queen do?
SevenRivers
As I said on another thread, the amount she received should have at least been adjusted by £155k to account for her winnings at the Gold Cup.
ECCOnoob
Seriously, anyone? What 'hard work' does the Queen do? Why dont you find out for yourself. http://www.royal.gov.uk/HMTheQueen/DayInTheLife/Queensworkingday.aspx Not bad for someone who is still working 22+ years past retirement age. flamingjimmy
Why dont you find out for yourself. http://www.royal.gov.uk/HMTheQueen/DayInTheLife/Queensworkingday.aspx So she has to attend some parties, oh that's sooo hard. Read a few letters from the public, wow that sounds so much harder than most people's jobs. Audiences with political ministers? Keep her away from politics she's supposed to be neutral. And then the final thing they list as among her duties is planning her diary, so she has to decide which parties she's going to attend, when she's gonna read some more letters, and when to have meetings with politicians. I'm sorry but that really doesn't sound like a particularly hard days work, either in terms of effort or skill.
Daven
The Queen is a very pampered and privileged woman who has never done a decent days work in her life.

Neither does passing groceries over a laser scanner or putting calls through on a switchboard or making cuts of tea for a living. Are those jobs not valid work in your opinion? ECCOnoob
The Queen is a very pampered and privileged woman who has never done a decent days work in her life. Evidence? She has worked ALL her life and is still working to this day. How many 80+ year old women do you know who are still working now? ---------- Post added 29-06-2013 at 23:59 ---------- They don't get paid umpteen millions though do they? Neither does the Queen. SHE personally gets paid naff all. If you actually bothered to read things you would know that.
flamingjimmy
Neither does passing groceries over a laser scanner or putting calls through on a switchboard or making cuts of tea for a living. I think working a shift at a supermarket or coffee shop is much harder than what the Queen does. Are those jobs not valid work in your opinion?Who said anything about 'valid' jobs? I was originally responding to a poster who boldy claimed to another poster that "The Queen works far harder and longer than you have or ever will." Unless he happens to know that that person has a particularly cushy job or that they don't work at all, then they were talking nonsense.

None, because they haven't had the pampered lifestyle the royals get. Most 80 year old women are knackered, on a state pension or in care homes.
