Hillpig
Surely Unite only bought Ed Miliband 3 years ago. If they have an extended warranty they should be able to take him back and exchange him for one that works as properly. Maybe keep it in the family? Stan Tamudo
Unite, working to feather the nests of the union barons and keep the class war going. The class war is being waged by a bunch of millionaire old Etonians and their chums xenia.

taxman
I'm confused. The Labour Party are so right wing at the moment, are people complaining that Unite has too much influence or too little? Remember, this is the party that oversaw millionaire bankers walking of with massive pensions after ruining the country...it's just bizarre that some folk still think they are being controlled by trots? God, I wish and long for the day when the labour party is controlled by someone other than an upper class lackwit capitalist lacky. Yet you people think he is a socialist in thrall to the unions? Bizarre.

Mecky
I'm confused. The Labour Party are so right wing at the moment, are people complaining that Unite has too much influence or too little? God, I wish and long for the day when the labour party is controlled by someone other than an upper class lackwit capitalist lacky. Yet you people think he is a socialist in thrall to the unions? Bizarre. The most rightist leftist organisation there is. I wish people would make their mind up. What UNITE tried to do is wrong in my opinion, whether they donate funds to a political party or not is irrelevant. Vote rigging, trying to influence votes, call it what you will, is wrong but, honestly, the way the rightwing trolls, are kicking off on here is quite pathetic. It’s not as though the Conservatives are beyond a little skulduggery themselves with Rashid 2009, Khan 2008, even Thatcher in 1958 and probably many more. Still, if it keeps the public eye off the Conservatives and how badly their ministers are performing, why not eh? I see where you're coming from though. The easiest and most effective way of bringing down an organisation is to do it from the inside by trying to publicly discredit it. To most people public opinion is everything, especially in politics. Whether it's true or not in this circumstance is unclear, but I'm open-minded and I suspect everyone of everything. To be closed to such views or ideas would be extremely narrow-minded and too far of a rightwing trait for my liking.
purdy
I'll be disgusted if it's true. This guy seems to think so. Perhaps they would have been better served by keeping the thug they had. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-23208906 Falkirk MP Eric Joyce has accused Unite union officials of acting arrogantly and irresponsibly in the row over selection of a Labour candidate in the seat he is vacating. Mr Joyce, who decided to stand down after being convicted of assault in a Commons bar, tells the Guardian party rules will need to be changed. Labour has told the police of alleged irregularities in the selection. Unite - Labour's biggest union backer - has dismissed the claims as nonsense. According to an internal Labour report, Unite members were being signed up to the local party without their knowledge in a bid to rig the contest.
