If there is a Sir Bradley Wiggens, Sir Nick Faldo, Sir Chris Hoy, Sir Steve Redgrave et al, it follows that there is a very strong argument for a Sir Andy Murray.
Does that now mean you'll have a Sir Christopher Froome?

People were knighted to defend the realm.............. do you think any of our modern "knights" will be able to answer a call to arms?

If they want to hand out awards for achievement I think they should call it something else other than being "knighted"

But he has his reward...............millions of pounds, for playing tennis, why a knighthood? People of this country died in aircrcraft ,tanks and ships and on land not all that long ago and got nothing!...........lets try for some level of perspective!

Except the result they fought for.
