Porn to be blocked!!

Recommended Posts

Im not being silly but your negative focus on 'it will never work' had no real argument behind it.
The Pirate Bay.

'Blocked' (ho-hum) in the UK by the powers that be some months ago, yet fully accessible within 5 seconds (if that much) by simply googling the expression (or its acronym TPB) and selecting the proxy-aggregating site (usually 1st or 2nd result on page 1).

Hundreds more comparable sites accessible without any such hindrance whatsoever.

You were saying?

The government are addressing an issue that is a concern for millions of parents.
So we are told.

So how come only 9% (or so) of parents actually bother to use existing, easy-to-use systems? (refer earlier post in thread with link for factual data/stats).

Maybe the reason your so against it is because your a really 14 yr old boy on his schools holidays who's scared that he wont be able to download faked nude pictures of the girls from Game of Thrones anymore and you troll girls that you fancy on snapchat.

Sits in his mums basement trying to send people computer viruses wearing a tin foil hat thinking that the government is trying to read your thoughts.

It kinda makes sense about your reasoning but im probably wrong. I hope so anyway.

Witty enough for ya! :hihi:

That's obvious...............the parents want to watch the porn too.

I think the problem has nothing to do with children accessing porn as such. It's the kind of porn they have access to.

So i guess that it will automatically be applied to the other 91%.

Thats an awesome result.

And as you say its easy for them to turn it off once the kids have gone to bed.

Once a child is old enough to know about sex, porn, whatever. Why would you want to deny them access to it?

It was a rethorical question ;)

I think the problem is not a societal problem warranting Gvt intervention, but still just limited (very much so) to a depraved 'fringe', similar in size/scope/import to extremists/terrorists and which relevant department(s) of the Gvt could already track, ID and neutralize perfectly well with current resources, given a relevant task order.

This measure, as with so many others lately, is symptomatic of a rampant populist race.

That so many people fall head over heels for it just like Clown Shoes is the more worrying aspect.

Not at all.

I pick my battles. Some policies i agree with & others i dont.

This can only be a good thing and i support it. Mainly because it the law. Its illegal to purchase or view pornographic material under the age of 18.

We cant all walk around all day thinking that the world is out to get us and to stick it to the man. Maybe you should try the same DUDE!

I have provided you with a real-life example of an Internet-curbing measure enacted by the UK Gvt (which you can verify yourself - only takes a second), which is proving to be as effective as a chocolate fireguard.

Entirely as expected by all and sundry, and as foretold to the Gvt at the time.

Care to comment about it?

99% of things that Clown Shoes says, he probably disagrees with himself. Some people have a forum character that they need to keep acting out.

I know alot of people i know can barely connect to wifi without help so turning on a filter would be rocket science to them.

I also know that i can lock my router at any time so they no one can view explicit content or will require a password.

What your predicting is that kids will out smart the system in some way. And if they pursue it then maybe they will.

But it will make them aware that is wrong and unacceptable. And will add some protection them from people who would like to do them harm.

I HONESTLY CANNOT BELIEVE YOU ARE OPPOSING THIS MEASURE.

It will do more good than bad.
