I'd recommend working out how to do your TV's filter thing then - it saves loads of time when channel surfing and looking through the EPG.

But most websites- inc. SF- do offer a "Report Post" facility. So let that there Twitter do the same.

There has been no proposal to ban all porn Mel.

 

Child porn is illegal to host, post or watch, as you would expect. It's as banned as it can possibly be.

 

No indeed, it looks like they are going to block much more than just porn.

I've had this sort of ludicrous filtering before - on holiday in Scotland and I cannot find out the address of the local distillery tour because that's blocked - and Vodafone wanted me to pay money to prove I was over 18.... utterly farcical. It cost Vodafone my business, at this rate it could well cost the Conservatives my vote. Sadly I doubt that the puritanical right that is being pandered to will care.

This isnt about Porn or child porn and if you think it is your very short sighted.

 

This is about getting people to accept systems being in place to monitor exactly what your doing and having the power to stop you if desired.

I doubt the porn block will really work. Look at Pirate Bay. Every time a Pirate Bay URL is blocked, 10 more have been created.

 

Or just use a VPN, proxy, TOR, VPS, AlwaysOnPC and the Deep Web.

 

The block will only delay, not stop people.

 

The government needs to talk to people who are actually intelligent about these things, not just talk to "experts".

As i posted earlier having had two days of oranges filter it makes the web utterly unusable. So if implemented as planned everyone will opt out rendering the whole thing pointless. It's as stupid as cracking down on underage drinking by making parents have to opt in to being allowed to purchase alcohol from off licence premises in cases the kids find the booze and help themselves.
