Chris_Sleeps
I find it interesting that there is an element of adoration that comes from pure celebrity, not from royalty. The obvious example being the way some Americans view the birth as equivalent to Kanye West's baby - just another celeb baby. You'll find the same in some British people. For them it's completely detached from politics. They have no idea of what a monarch is - beyond the fame. Then there are royalists, who will naturally celebrate. The same people who cried at Diana will now greedily chase her grandchild throughout its life. I'll be honest - my tele is off. I know enough to predict the fawning sickening nonsense that will fill up the air.
Oh Carol
OK, let's flip it a bit. Why do people think they're better than other people? Nearly everyone I've come across does this to some extent. You mean like YOU think you are better than any Tory you have come across?

Just Sarah
It's a simple enough question. Why do royalists think that the the baby born today is more special than any other born today? What has it done differently from any other baby? Why is one born into a life of luxury, whereas the other might be dead in a week..why do you care about the rich white one but not the dead black one? It's all bizarre to me.....why do you only care about the richest baby born today, but couldn't give a damn if thousands of others died? Saying people dont give a damn about the other kids is a bit harsh. Its even harsher to suggest people dont care for the babies who have died. If there was a thread to commemorate the dead babies im sure there'd be plenty of input from plenty of people.

Oh Carol
I suspect the usual suspects round these parts are much nearer to Wayne Rooney and Jordan....'cause they're worth it, than the Monarch
