CzechGirl Posted July 23, 2013 Share Posted July 23, 2013 Come and join our Sunday walk: Sunday 28th July B2 (8.5 miles) River Wye on the Rocks From the village of Chelmorton we climb up to look at the Neolithic Chambered Cairn at Five Wells - an ancient monument. From here we descend to the River Wye and continue along the winding 200ft deep gorge of Cheedale including a section on stepping stones (or if impassable the Monsal Trail instead). We follow the river and then branch off into more remote Deep Dale and Horseshoe Dale and then loop back through the fields into Chelmorton for a stop at the Church Inn. Dog-friendly: the route is suitable for bringing dogs along. Start: SK113702, The Church Inn, Chelmorton Transport: Meet at 10:30 at University car park, Durham Road (off Clarkson St), behind the Octagon. We will share lifts from here (when booking on the walk, please state if you offer/require a lift).
