I'll be there on Friday, pre-drink before the game, post-drink after and hopefully a Blades win, I hope the crowd get behind Weir and the team and give them good support.

Just clearing my throat now........

Ideally,I would like to see a marker put down tomorrow for what is likely to happen at the Lane for the rest of the season,I want to see the Blades really getting into teams, physically and mentally, bossing them around instead of being bullied on our own pitch and dictated too like we were on occasions last season, hopefully we will have more pace around the pitch and a greater physical prescence, plus the legs to outlast teams and take them all the way to 90+ plus minutes.

Fancy passing or longball,as long as it's not aimless hoofball,I want to see us pressure them and press them right from our front man to the back 4,winning the ball back quickly when we lose it and generally putting the opposition on the back foot from the first whistle with a greater work ethic and commitment than we saw last season. All this squad have something to prove in one way or another this season,Weir also.........so let's hope that they are up for it,it's a long hard road and results are not always going to go for us,but as long as we see we are heading in the right direction and these players are capable of improvement over time, while they are accumulating a decent win/points ratio in the first few games,it could be a successful season. We need leaders and inspiration on and off the pitch, players who are going to make the difference in close games, show character and take the waverers with them when the chips are down to come through with a result.

I don't know the guy,but i am sure that Weir is a clear thinker who knows exactly how he wants to play, what he expects from the players and has a good idea on how to improve on last year despite the financial constraints, and I believe that he is going to give players a chance to prove that they are up to his mark at the start of the season, but if they don't cut it,he will wheel and deal to bring in who he believes will make the difference.

Hoping for Porter and Doyle to start :loopy::loopy:

Please don't mention Porters pre season exploits as it counts for nothing , he is awful.

Same for Doyle a truly dreadful player with little or no skill or flair or technique whatsoever .

Obviously don't watch the blades very often .

I'm going to go for a 2-1 win in this win hopefully Taylor or Brandy can score , get the ball rolling early . :) UTB

Haha honestly you couldn't be more wrong mate. Missed 3 games last season and 5 games the season before and that's home and away.

All players deserve a fresh start under a new manager, Porter has had a torrid time with injuries and is finally getting fit, he might not be a 20 goals a season striker but he links up well with the midfield and that's what we need playing one up front. Plus who would you select? Taylor? I don't think we've seen enough of him to decide.

Doyle is not a great player I agree but we need experience we can't just chuck a load of new young players into the first game we'll get slaughtered.

Can't fault Porter on his workrate and effort, but last season some of his finishing was awful. If it's a confidense issue, and he gets of to a good start, who knows, he may surprise us all.

Just hope the crowd dont get on his back too quickly if things dont get off to a good start.

Home crowd can be fantastic, and when Bramall Lane is loud and bouncing, there's no better place to be, but when the boo boys start.... well, we just dont need it.

Agree completely some blades can't seem to wait to have a go at their own players. Knocking them before they've even kicked a ball this season.

We have a manager that people are happy with so let's get behind the team make bramall lane a fortress again.
