Squipper
Okay, I am new to this forum, so take it easy with me. I recently came out of the Navy and decided to join this forum. After trying to upload an avatar of HMS Sheffield , which was sank in the Falklands War in 1982, I encountered a little hostility from a single SF user on Forum News and Feedback. Is HMS Sheffield, the Shiny Sheff, still important to Sheffielders, or do you think I am getting a bit over emotional?
megalithic
Hostile ? Not at all, you presumed i knew about a subject dear to you when in reality i hadn't a clue. If you're really that sensitive SF isn't the place for you pal.

Squipper
Believe me pal, SF is nowhere near as bad as some places I 've put up with. But thanks for letting me know that you didn't have a clue about it http://www.navy-net.co.uk/forum.php ---------- Post added 02-08-2013 at 02:19 ---------- You have a nail technician sticking up for you? megalithic
I do vaguely remember the Falklands war, but i don't watch tv, read papers, or keep up with news. I do what's in my signature.

A lot of good people, with interesting lives, and interesting things to say don't last long on here because it seems to be some sort of saddos' club, and they are more interested in spelling mistakes, accusing people of racism and generally being obnoxious priggs... Welcome to Sheffield Forum...as an ex serviceman I am sure you will survive the idiots xxx
wornout53
Welcome to the forum. I remember the sinking of H.M.S Sheffield but would just consider your using it as an avatar to signify that you were a navy man who had possibly served out in the South Atlantic. What's wrong with using the HMS Sheffield as an Avatar??
