Pensioners do die, in the UK, in the winter, to the tune of 9 a day, yet you and other we'll spend your money Wallahs (waits to be called a racist) agree with sending our money to pay for the luxury lifestyle of many African despots. We know our aid money doesn't reach those 15,000,000 children a year who die so what is the justification in sending it at the cost of our own pensioners lives? Zamo Posted August 12, 2013 Share Posted August 12, 2013 I never claimed the problem to be solely someone else's fault, obviously the poor leadership the Africa has has got an awful lot to answer for as well. The problem is that if the world does not find a way to untangle the mess caused by colonialism, the Cold War and the despotic leadership, then the world may be a too small place for this problem to exist in isolation from the rest of it. Thanks for the link, I'll read it later. It is interesting to also read the views of Africans on the issue of colonialism and the problems they currently face. It is a shame we can't have a similar frank exchange of views on sheffield forum without having to battle PC zealots who refuse to believe that criticism of a foreign nation/culture/religion could be based on anything more than racist bigotary. You know when you write it that it's a straw man, nobody agrees with it. You also know that not sending that money wouldn't somehow magically save the pensioners. Obviously you care not that children die in this country for lack of medical treatment unless funds can be raised to pay for the treatment.
