How many Pakistani soldiers have been killed fighting the Taliban as part of the war on terror?

How many countries has Pakistan invaded so far?

I have no idea how many Pakistani soldiers have been killed fighting the ISI controlled taliban. Doubtless many decent Pakistani soldiers have died however the power of the Pakistani state has promoted the taliban in Afghanistan and in Pak itself.

As to how many countries they have invaded, India 5 times and Bangladesh once, not bad for a "peaceful" nation that's only been independant for ten minutes in the big scheme of things.

The Pakistani state is our enemy, the pakistani taliban created and nurtured by that state are our enemy and large numbers of the pakistani people hate the west and we should not give them a penny.

And we should also limit immigration from that country to only the most educated professionals such as surgeons.

Not stupid when people in this country are being denied medical treatment on financial grounds.

A&E is in a state of collapse yet we give away £Billions.

.

We should be relieved we don't have to experience the disasters some of those underdeveloped nations do, and lets hope we never have to. Wouldn't you be glad if someone helped us if were struck by famine or other disasters on the same scale as they do?

It isn't the fault of the people who suffer that some of their governments are corrupt, but something more should be done to control the management of distribution.

Do you know how many 'Indian' (as Pakistan then was) soldiers fought for Britain in both world wars (as well as the Empire)?

The largest volunteer armies in modern history!

What happens when there is a disaster? DEC run a series of adverts asking for charitable contributions, which they get. That's nothing to do with the aid budget, disaster response has always been largely funded by individual charitable donations and quite rightly so. So lets not pretend the DfID budget is about emergency response, it isn't.

What most people rightly object to is while massive necessary cuts are made at home handouts overseas are ringfenced and it's not paid for even by "belt tightening" at home, it's paid for with entirely borrowed money. We are borrowing money to give it away while slashing services for our people, surely that is utter madness?

But everyone's discussing bongo bongo and the imagined racist connotations, not the waste of public money going into some countries.

I disagree. I think those who are intelligent are discussing the vast waste of public funds being spent on 'Foreign Aid' whilst others would rather focus on the entirely irrelevant use of the term 'bongo bongo land'.
