dosxuk
if snakes only kill to eat They don't. I grew up living near wild snakes, we were told to leave them alone because they do attack people if they feel threatened.
Steptoad
Yes, I thought that didn't add up. It also, apparently, knocked a hole in the ceiling above the children to get to them.
Jeffrey Shaw
The news report http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-23583116 mentions a boa constrictor or python. Each kills by constriction, not poison, but there's no proof that a snake kills only to eat.

newmanx
He might just killed because he is predator or because he felt threatened.
Super Hans
It's wrong that they killed the snake though, that snake didn't want to be holed up in a glass box all its life it wanted to be out in the jungle, it didn't ask to be captured or to be reared in captivity. You shouldn't kill an animal for doing what comes natural to them it's like letting a lion loose and killing it for attacking something. No, no no no. Don't keep it locked up in the first place, it isn't meant to be there.
WeX
if snakes only kill to eat why did the one in canada kill two children and not eat/swallow one RIP babies. may animals given the right circumstances will kill more animals than they need to eat. Take a fox in a chicken coup for example. Also some animals will kill to consume much later.
