Selling items on Japanese eBay?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever used Japanese ebay to sell anything? I have certain Artwork which I was told by a film assistant producer that Japanese people would buy.

Is it a simple case of finding a translator site and copy/pasting into it? I did hear about a Yahoo/ebay intermediary service which 'brokers' a sale(?), but perhaps that is simply for buyers only?

Electerrific,

Interesting question for anyone interested in expanding their interest in ebaying. I used to search around looking on the other countries that eBay caters for. As you highlight, the main issue is the language.

Microsoft provide some translation downloads/software. There also seems to be quite a bit of kit out there now to do the translation.

Have at look at these.

This one seems to be a free download

There seems to be quite a lot of stuff in Google results.

Thanks, will try!

Translation software usually just outputs gibberish. Pay a Japanese translator, one with Japanese as their first language, if it'll fetch a high enough price.

Thanks, but surely not any worse than the Chinese/Japanese translated instructions we get with some items? :hihi::hihi::hihi::hihi::hihi::hihi::hihi:

Probably not, but you read the instructions after you buy. We're talking about the advert here. If you want it to fetch the best price then you should have the best advert you can & the best way to do it would be to find a Japanese person who can translate from English.
