ISS just now. (International space station)

Why did it fade out of view? Was that because of the thickness of the atmosphere (it's thinner when over head etc), or, was it moving in to the shade (earth between ISS and Sun), or something else?

Yes but in the time it takes to orbit, we have moved several hundred miles away from underneath it as the Earth rotates...
