megalithic
Bond in Skyfall wears Barbour. Joe Bland wears other brands. Tssssk, tv is so common. Seriously though, why not buy a garment fit for purpose ? Barbour jackets don't keep the rain out and the material can't breath due to the wax coating so you become smelly. Goretex and eVent address this problem in some stylish designs, so it's pretty silly not to look at them as a solution. Unless it's a label over function thing. Ridgeway84
But Barbour has no label, just distinction...
megalithic
But Barbour has no label, just distinction... Distinctively smelly. I have owned them in my ignorant youth days in the hills. Unstylish, unfit for purpose and a complete nightmare to maintain. They are to outdoors what Delorean was to motoring.
Ridgeway84
I see. You don't work for Gore Tex or E vent do you?
megalithic
I see. You don't work for Gore Tex or E vent do you? No. Though i have been given a few or their designs for review over the years. some have been excellent others complete *****e. I'm not being funny, if it's Barbour you want despite it's obvious downsides then good luck, but i go for performance and functionality as my life may well depend on them if camping on such as Kinder where you can't easily retire to a near by shooting hut or pub if things turn nasty. It's not a class thing either, i'll happily munch fur or feather.

Ridgeway84
Nope wax jackets went out in the 1980s Around the same time as socialism. Barbour are back in fashion, however, the less people wear them the better. I don't want the brand going the same way as Burberry where any loser can wear it. bullerboY
Buy a motorbike that will blow and wash the bits of when your knocking up a ton down to the ace cafe,as for not being waterproof well i should ask a few older bikers for the answer to that one.All the pre - eighties international and local trials riders wore the complete suit which alas is no longer available. Agent Orange
Barbour should only be worn if riding a horse. Nothing classy about someone wearing this sort of stuff in a town or city.
