Hedgehog50
I have just seen the mother of all caterpillars if that's what it is. It also had like a round head and I know that sounds daft but god I am now freaked out. Does anyone know what it could be? It must have been 3 inches long with this round head. All the time I'm writing this post it is making me shudder.
Total Chaos
If it was yellow and had black spikes then it would be the oak moth or sycamore moth. Can't remeber which.

natjack
Was just logging in to post that, angos, you beat me to it! There's a few around right now. Makes a pretty good looking moth, though Hedgehog50. I know your kind like insects, but please don't eat it!
