Jim Hardie
Went on a mini cruise from Cyprus to Egypt and Israel at Christmas time. Very average food, up at 5.30 every morning to be bussed to the sights and the Med can be really rough at that time of year so lots of kids puking. The ship (SS Romantica) caught fire mid-cruise in 1997 and was completely destroyed but thankfully without loss of life.
jfish1936
We've just returned from a double cruise on board "Ocean Princess", Dover to Iceland and back to Dover, then Dover to Baltic to Dover, in the same cabin without having to shift luggage. Great scenery; "OP" is small enough to enter ports bigger ships can't go. Good food. I hate the custom of adding tipping ("service charges"/gratuities, ) but I guess they're too deep in USA "religion' to dispense with. (Had to break off to eat -- do not offend the wife who has cooked dinner!) As Princess is an American based line, the ship's laundry needs "quarters" (25 cents) for its machines. The ships operating from Australia use Aus coins, and don't have compulsory tipping. We've been on so many cruises that our laundry and WiFi are free; a comedian pointed out that first-time cruisers might feel bad about the multi-voyage people: " They're the ones who've paid $100,000 in previous cruise fares, and they get free WiFi and laundry. Wouldn't it have been cheaper just to pay for the laundry and Internet?" Some crew mwmbers remembered us from previous cruises and welcomed us back. Altogether, the cruise was a wonderful experience. Whether we go again depends on our physical health (age 75+)

queenswood
Got back from our second one yesterday. Fab as always. Once you have been on one you would not do another holiday. P&O Ventura. Going to try Oceana next time.
Jam on it
I wouldn't mind a go on a cruise; Penelope would be nice.
Vague_Boy
I went on an educational cruise many years ago (S.S. Uganda, of Falklands War fame) and it was brilliant. Egypt, Israel, Greece, Turkey. I wouldn't necessarily recommend the same itinerary these days though.
rossyrooney
Got back from our second one yesterday. Fab as always. Once you have been on one you would not do another holiday. P&O Ventura. Going to try Oceana next time. You'll be in for a disappointment I'm afraid, Ventura is a far nicer ship and much more stable too.
