Need someone who knows about WW2 Military Uniforms

Recommended Posts

RCT wasn't formed until later(1960s I think) and its predecessor was the RASC.

Not necessarily an infantryman.

There are staff sergeants in corps.

It looks more like a Mechanics or drivers uniform its not a battle dress more like a overall type uniform worn my the likes.

I've just been having the magnifying glass on that picture and I think you can see what looks like an engineers bomb above the stripes.three stripes a bomb and a crown would indicate an Engineers staff sergeant, but the only thing is I can't see a lanyard which would indicate an Engineers uniform ... they also wore similar type of uniforms.if there was a picture of the cap badge we could tell a lot better.

They are second world war service ribbons the colours in the picture are not very good so its hard to tell what they are, the colours tell the flags of the country and what theater of the war the soldier served in ,the best way to tell anything is from cap badges.

Can anyone tell me anything about my uncles uniform and stripes(not sure what its called, the colours above his pocket).

IMAG0528

Thanks

They look like the 1939-1945 Star, Africa Star, Italy Star and France and Germany Star.

Usually there would also be the Defence medal and War medal.
