Ideas on What to make out my wood?

Recommended Posts

Only if you will not use that fire. Otherwise a real wooden fire surround on a functional fire is playing irresponsible medieval games.

Any responsible gasfitter will cap of your fire if you use real wood there.

Codswallop.

As long as you follow the recommended distance between the fire and combustible materials you won't have a problem.

It's 6" for my wood burner and the mantlepiece of the fire is real wood. Fitted by a hetas qualified engineer and all is good.

+1 for that, our mantlepiece is a big old hunk of wood over our woodburner, like you say just use common sense and make sure the dimensions are correct for the calorific output of the stove.

yeah sounds about as much fun as 22 men chasing a ball about :hihi:

The Swedes can turn that into something else far crazier;

"Alone in a cabin in the woods, she attempts an ascetic lifestyle, meditating, studying non-violence and practicing yoga. Bill soon comes looking for her in his new car. She greets him with a shot gun, but they soon start to make love. Lena confronts Bill about Marie, and finds out about another of his lovers, Madeleine. They begin to fight and Bill leaves. Lena has strange dreams, in which she ties two teams of football players – she notes that they number 23 – to a tree, shoots Bill and cuts his penis off. "

by the way what size are these bits of wood?

The blocks that you knock down are about 8" x 2.5" x 2.5". You chuck these wooden batons at them, which are a bit longer. You have 2 teams facing each other, about 5 yds apart (sorry I haven't gone metric yet). You take it in turns to try and knock down the other team's blocks without knocking down your own. It's more fun than it sounds and a good game to play with kids too. They are often just as good or better at it than adults.
