I believe that Mr Womersley served with the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry (KOYLI) during the war. This is in connection with research that I am doing regarding my late-grandfather's Army service. Like my grandfather, Leonard Womersley volunteered for the Glider Pilot Regt in the summer of 1942, and, following a rigorous selection process progressed to initial flying training. At some point, I understand that Leonard Womersley transferred back to the KOYLI, with which he continued his service. Any assistance to get in contact with Mr Womersley would be greatly appreciated!
